Hospital Auxiliary: St. John's Berryville

St. John's Hospital - Berryville Auxiliary is a volunteer organization comprised of over 200 members.
These volunteers are dedicated to serving their fellow man and the hospital in accordance with its mission statement.

Volunteers work in many areas of the hospital and the community. The Auxiliary has been responsible for much of the success of St. John's Hospital - Berryville.

To date, the Hospital Auxiliary has donated over $600,000 to purchase equipment to ensure the hospital maintains the latest technology available. All donations from the Auxiliary are used to further enhance patient care services.

Volunteers also contribute by donating their time in a variety of different areas. Volunteers man the information desk of the hospital to help direct our visitors. They also man the surgery waiting desk, keeping the families of surgical patients informed. The Gift Shop is operated by the Auxiliary and is located in the main hospital lobby. Purchases can even be made on line at www.stjohnsberryville.com. The Thrift Store, located on the square in Green Forest, provides a service to the community as well as being a main revenue source for the Auxiliary.

The Auxiliary also is responsible for the coordination of the quarterly Community Blood Center of the Ozarks blood drives. Working with the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, the volunteers assure the hospital and community will have an adequate blood supply. Blood drives are held approximately every three months and St. John's Hospital - Berryville receives its entire supply of blood from Community Blood Center of the Ozarks.

The Auxiliary also performs many services rarely seen by the community. These services include supplying hand-crocheted booties for babies born at St. John's hospital and supplying crafts, scrubs, and baked goods for their fund raising sales. They also make favors on special holidays and present them to the patients on their meal trays.

The Auxiliary also provides many hours of assistance with hospital mailings, filing, along with other helpful tasks. For more information on joining the Auxiliary, contact the hospital at (870)423-5257.
